Corporate Staff Attorney or Paralegal - Toledo

The Toledo office of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, seeks a full time Corporate Staff Attorney or Paralegal to join its REIT Practice Group to assist in a diverse and sophisticated practice that includes preparing and maintaining legal entity documents, administering multiple deadline-sensitive processes including due diligence documentation and closings.  A bachelor’s degree in an ABA approved paralegal program or equivalent experience is required for paralegal applicants and three to five years’ experience in the corporate-related tasks outlined above is required for attorney applicants.  Strong understanding of corporate terms and technological skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required and familiarity with EDGAR and other on-line search and filings systems and some background with mergers and acquisitions and divestitures are highly desirable.  Superior organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as analytical, problem solving and decision making skills and the ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality are essential.
