David P. Strup is highly experienced in the area of general civil litigation. He focuses his practice on national coordination and management of asbestos litigation for a Fortune 500 Company (its aerospace and hydraulic groups), insurance coverage for policyholders, general commercial and construction contract litigation, defense of credit bureaus and collection agencies, toxic tort defense, and FDCPA defense. His litigation management covers all aspects of individual lawsuits, including exposure assessments, development and implementation of trial strategies, case-specific product investigations, experts and corporate witness identification and preparation, coordination of discovery and motion practice, management of document productions, participation (lead) in depositions of plaintiff, co-workers and experts, and negotiation of protective orders, dismissals, and settlement agreements. David's National Counsel role also includes periodic assessment of defense counsel network, addressing fee and billing issues, participation in company-wide national counsel meetings, and preparation and conduct of defense counsel programs designed to convey acquired product knowledge and further develop defense strategies.
David serves as lead counsel in defense and prosecution of commercial disputes, including shareholder actions, construction-related claims, and breach of contract actions. He also serves as lead trial counsel in plaintiffs' personal injury and wrongful death actions and lead defense counsel for credit reporting bureaus and debt collection agencies in individual and class action lawsuits. He also serves as co-counsel representing policy holders in insurance coverage and insurer bad faith litigation.
