James S. Savalli is in the litigation practice group and focuses his practice on commercial, construction, and real property litigation. James is also involved on the transactional side of construction, helping to prepare and negotiate contract documents on behalf of owners, designers, general contractors, and subcontractors.
At Brooklyn Law School, James received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Fundamentals of Legal Drafting, and drafted a policy report for the NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC) which will be featured in its summer 2016 symposium on standard form construction contracts.
James grew up in Sarasota, attending Pine View School and playing sports at Booker High School. Before pursuing a legal career, James received his Bachelor of Science from the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management at the University of Florida, and he worked as an Assistant Project Manager for Skanska USA Building Inc. James’s past projects include the Sarasota Memorial Hospital Master Plan Renovation, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and the United Nations Headquarters Capital Master Plan in New York, and he brings extensive construction knowledge with him to Shumaker’s construction law practice group.
