Jason A. Collier, associate in the Sarasota office, presented "The Principles of Hiring, Firing, and Performance Appraisals: Common Mistakes Managers Make" at Critical Care & Veterinary Specialists of Sarasota on November 16, 2011. The presentation was to assist owners, managers, administrators and human resource professionals with practical advice on avoiding common pitfalls in the hiring, firing, and performance appraisal process.
Mr. Collier is Board Certified in Employment Law. His practice focuses on representing employers in a wide variety of employment issues, including wage and hour litigation, discrimination actions, restrictive covenant/trade secret claims, and other employment litigation. He regularly advises clients regarding compliance with employment laws, such as Title VII, FLSA, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and general employment issues such as hiring, firing, performance appraisals, managing employees, and workplace investigations.
Mr. Collier received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.S.B.A., cum laude, from the University of Florida.
