Brett M. Henson practices in the areas of commercial and construction litigation. As a member of the firm's litigation practice group, he devotes a substantial portion of his practice to handling all types of construction disputes, including claims related to breach of contract, delay damages, workmanship and design defects, fidelity and surety bonds, and Florida’s Construction Lien Law. He also counsels and assists construction industry professionals regarding dispute avoidance procedures, along with contract preparation, review, and negotiation. In addition, he represents clients in a broad range of complex commercial and business litigation matters, from initial case inception and early resolution through trial.
Prior to joining the firm, Brett gained extensive litigation and trial experience in various state and federal courts, both as an Assistant State Attorney in Pinellas County, FL, and as a civil trial lawyer, representing individuals, businesses, and insurance companies. He has handled a variety of construction defect claims on behalf of a developers, general contractors, and subcontractors, including both pre-suit claims pursuant to Chapter 558, Florida Statutes, and litigated matters through mediation, arbitration, and trial.
