Carlye Morgan is the Director of Governmental Relations for Shumaker Advisors/Florida LLC. Originally from Tampa, Carlye first served as a middle school educator in Texas, where she was named Teacher of the Year. She then used her experience as a teacher to launch her career in public policy, working as Legislative Assistant to Congresswoman Kathy Castor in Washington and Outreach Director in Tampa. Her policy portfolio included education, small business, and the arts. During this time, Carlye also worked on a presidential campaign during the 2008 election cycle. Subsequently, she consulted for a public policy think tank and provided public engagement for a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation non profit. Additionally, Carlye served as the Senior Director for Government Relations for the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, providing local, state, and federal advocacy to the business community on a wide variety of legislative topics, including health care, transportation, US-Cuba relations, defense, and tax policy.
Carlye holds a masters degree in public administration from the American University and a bachelors in English from Southern Methodist University (SMU).
