Mark E. Mercer has extensive experience in environmental law and litigation and offers clients a unique perspective, having worked with businesses in a wide range of industries. He advises clients on various environmental, health, and safety matters, including compliance with solid and hazardous waste requirements, underground storage tank laws and regulations, permitting, wetlands, and remediation projects. Mark has significant experience in commercial real estate transactions involving environmental issues and has managed environmental aspects of complex multi-site projects, including general due diligence, team oversight, and the commission, review, and comment on Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment reports. Mark also advises clients on mitigating or avoiding environmental risks associated with commercial business and real estate matters.
In addition, Mark has defended clients in civil litigation, including personal injury and commercial litigation, as well as been involved in construction law, liens, collections and related litigation. He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the D. C. Circuit and United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.
