Scott is a member of the firm’s Litigation practice group. His focus is in the areas of commercial and construction litigation.

Scott has experience in representing community associations in a broad range of matters, such as construction defect litigation, the collection of delinquent assessments through lien foreclosure, and complex litigation over the validity of a community’s governing documents.  

As a former prosecutor, Scott gained invaluable trial experience representing the people of the State of Florida in a variety of criminal cases. While at the State Attorney’s Office, he handled many high level criminal cases from the investigation stage and filing stage through trial.

Representative Matters

  • As an Assistant State Attorney litigated over 30 jury trials. In addition to trial experience Scott prosecuted a wide range of felony cases including, attempted murder, trafficking in controlled substances, robbery, and burglary.
  • Assisted a condominium association in meeting its pre-suit requirements under Chapter 558, Florida Statutes related to construction defects caused be a general contractor
  • Assisted in representing the purchasers of a home in an action against the sellers for failing to disclose a material defect in the home, known by the sellers.
  • Represented various condominium and homeowners associations in actions to recover delinquent assessments, such as lien foreclosure and money damages.
  • Assisted in representing a condominium association in complex litigation against a developer and a neighboring condominium association, over the validity of its governing documents under Florida’s Condominium Act.
